How to Fix Most Eye Problems

This is not medical advice. This is a recount of my eye issues and how I fixed them. Your health is your responsibility. Talk to your doctor.

Introduction: The Author as a Case Study for Eye Problems

I have suffered for years with dangerously high eye pressure that resulted in constant floaters, ocular migraines and every kind of flash imaginable. I had flashes every day for years and a number of particularly scary “lightning bolt” flashes that indicate the retina (the tissue that gives you vision by being able to distinguish light) is in imminent danger and is being ripped away from where it is supposed to be by an object like a floater. In addition to the problems I was having with eye pressure, I experienced nerve damage to the optic nerve and to nerves in my brain that led to other, MS-like symptoms. I experienced inflammation inside my head, eyes and on the exterior of my eyelids. This condition was primarily caused by a combination of mold exposure (I was living in an apartment with mold, and I had no idea about it or the danger it posed), Borrelia (Lyme, mine was at the neurological stage), Bartonella (Co-infection of Lyme that attacked my eyes and heart preferentially), a poor diet, depression, heavy alcohol intake, an all but compromised immune system (due to a gut microbiome imbalance) and incredibly bad luck.

If I had not taken matters into my own hands, and I had solely listened to the doctors who pretended to treat me, I would have lost some or all of my vision permanently. Instead, I had to educate myself, very quickly, on how to fight this problem and I used a multi-pronged strategy to save my vision and ensure I would never end up in this situation again. The eye problems were the first and scariest of my battle with Lyme. I didn’t know anything, and almost overnight I went from completely invincible to unable to see or function on a level that would be considered by anyone as normal. It ruined my life then and it was the rage and sadness that I experience during this time that led to the creation of this website. I don’t want anyone else to go through what I went through ever again. So I am teaching the world how to use all the weapons I learned how to use in this fight, so they can defeat these problems if they ever encounter them. Hopefully, before these problems grow to the point that they did in me.

Welcome to Hell

When I was in real trouble I could not stand to see any light at all. My optic nerve was so damaged and inflamed that it was overloaded instantly by any light from any source. When I did have to look at light it left a trail like you would see if you were blinded temporarily by a camera flash and then looked away. When I closed my eyes reactively from the pain of seeing light there would be an afterimage in my vision of all the light it had just seen, almost like a negative of a camera film. This would linger for a while and then disappear when my eyes were closed as the nerve recovered to the best of its ability. This was caused by my retina, nerves and brain all trying to make sense of what had just happened while receiving information from frayed and inflamed nerves. The pressure in my eyes was so bad that floaters made it impossible to see detail, my vision was a constant wash of every type of floater imaginable. Some were tangled spider webs, some were just large blobs that obscured light. Some were both. The pressure in the eye was so bad that actually looking at things was rolling the dice on if I would see flashes after the fact. The flashes would come constantly and nothing I did seemed to help them. I just hoped that I could keep the scariest of all flashes, the “lightning bolt” flashes, to a minimum. When those happened it took all I had to keep myself together, because I knew exactly how dangerous those are. I knew that a “lightning bolt” was a visual manifestation of your retina being pulled on and if it was detached there was a good chance you would lose some or all of your vision. If those occurred, I knew I had to go to the optometrist and get my eye checked out as soon as humanly possible, to make sure that the retina was not pulled off or in imminent danger. And I also knew the doctors would be of no help whatsoever in preventing it in the future. They would just tell me that the retina was still there, there were a lot of floaters, and that the nerve “looked fine” from what they could tell. Back to hell for me.

The exterior of my eyes was red and inflamed all day, every day. The inflammation was such that the meibomian glands, the glands in your eyelids that excrete oil so that the aqueous solution excreted by your lacrimal gland doesn’t instantly evaporate, was not working at all. This meant that my eyes were constantly bone dry, prone to infection, unable to work properly, and putting an incredible strain on the nerves and connective tissue that was trying to function as a vision system.  New red veins were appearing every day on my eyes, an attempt from my body to provide resources to eyes that were being starved. My sclera (the white portion of the eye) was blood red in parts and dull yellow everywhere else there wasn’t a new red line in them. I would wake up with yellow discharges at the corner of my eyes that my doctors swore were not an indicator of anything. My eyes were so dry that they often didn’t register on the test that they do at the doctor’s office (ph paper in the eyelid) to see how you are doing on a 1-10 scale. I would get a 1 on a good day. Sometimes the ph paper wouldn’t get enough liquid on it in time to really register. Everything was red and inflamed. Keeping my eyes open for just a minute was torture. At night I would put “long lasting” eye drops in my eyes and petroleum products on my eyelids in an attempt to keep them moist during the night (your eyes do not produce the aqueous and oil solution while your lids are closed like they do when your lids are open). None of it worked.

My eyes were so inflamed that I would lay in pain with no way to help the problem. If I drifted off a bit I might be able to sleep until I hit the begging of REM sleep. Every time I hit REM sleep and my eyes started moving with the lids closed, my cornea would painfully tear away from my lid and I would wake up in pain. This hurt tremendously and also was doubly painful as I would jump up in pain and open my eyes again, only to feel the pain of whatever minute light was in the room at the time.

I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t keep my eyes open when I was awake. It was a special kind of hell. It was a challenge to see how bad I wanted to go on living. At first I would try to force myself to cry just so my eyes would make liquid. It wouldn’t work. Then as the months would go on I would cry out of sadness and loneliness. Still no tears would come out. I would dry cry throughout the day and night. Not because I thought it would help. Just because I had to. Things went on like this for about a year and a half.

I felt every second of that time.

If you ever wonder why I love fighting, and talk about it so much, it is because I had to do it for every second of every day for a year and a half. And I know there are people who wouldn’t be able to do that. So I have to help them as best I can. First by directly helping, then by teaching them how to fight for themselves, then by teaching them how to teach others to help themselves. I am building the team I wish I had when I was suffering.

The Lion and the Dark. First I spent a year weeping when no tears would come out, then I took revenge against the pathogen, now I work to stop others from having to feel what I felt.

My entire online presence is named “The Lion and the Light” because I had to be a Lion, with unlimited and unrelenting courage, to heal myself when no one else would or could  heal me. I had to have never ending courage to keep fighting when this was my life. I remember all the pain and the lonliness. I remember the ridicule. I use it now to make me stronger. It is fuel to help others better. The Light is a metaphor for God, my spirit, the spirit of all things and also the light which caused my pain and fear for so long. When I began to get better I learned to love the light again, as I did before I got sick. Vision problems are where my entire journey began and helping others who have them is an issue that is one of the closest to my heart. If you are afraid of losing your vision, let’s fight together. Soon whatever threatens you will be the one who is afraid.

Not us.

Now let’s get to work.

Specific Eye Issues That Can Cause Real Problems

Floaters

Your eyes are full of liquid called your vitreous humor. This liquid is supposed to be uncongealed but if you are having inflammatory or eye pressure problems it can congeal and create objects that cast a shadow on the light sensitive tissue in the back of your eye, your retina, that actually allows you to see light. The shadow that is cast is what you perceive as a floater. If you have a lot of floaters, or get them very young, it could be a sign of something bad happening. It is best to get rid of them as best you can as soon as you can.

An important note here is that every optometrist or ophthalmologist I have ever spoken to has told me that there is nothing you can do about floaters and they are only really an issue if they pull on your retina (floaters can attach to the retina and pull it down, this can cause vision loss). These statements are 100% wrong and if I had listened to these lab coats I would have likely lost some or all of my vision. I did fix my floaters and I improved my overall vision substantially. This was a massive failure on the medical industry and these statements were lies whether these providers knew it or not. Do not ever let someone else tell you what you are capable of. I don’t care if it is someone telling you that you can’t fix floaters or if they tell you you can’t learn to swim or program a computer or become an astronaut. They are always wrong when they tell you that you can’t do something. Believe hard enough, and fight hard enough, and you can do it.

Also, all of these people told me that floaters were “a normal part of aging”. It is true that most people do not take care of themselves as they age, but it is also true that you can use some of the things I am about to mention to fix floaters. It is true that your brain will “unsee” floaters after sometime that are there constantly, this is part of the normal way that your brain processes information, but it is also true that when I cleared up my floaters I stopped getting scary flashes and lightning bolts in my vision. Whether or not the floaters were removed, my brain ignored the old ones, I stopped getting new ones but kept the old ones, or any combination of these possibilities occurred is irrelevant. I did this, it fixed my problems. Not listening to the lab coats about floaters and eye pressure was the key to saving my vision. Your results may vary.

It is also true that floaters are “a normal part of aging”. This is because most people age poorly and let their health degrade for no good reason. You can fix floaters and many other parts of “normal” aging. To accept a problem as permanent due to benign circumstances is foolish. To tell others to do so is malicious.

Eye Pressure

The level of pressure in your eye is very important. The way there are a couple of ways that doctors measure this and healthy IOP (interocular pressure) should be between 10-21mm Hg. It is important to note that everyone should have pressure inside their eyes. This is how eyes work. But when the pressure becomes too little or too great you will be in the danger zone for retina problems and other issues.  Without a certain amount of pressure your eyes would cave in on themselves like a deflated balloon. With too much pressure, which was my case, you run the risk of serious problems with floater formation, risk of damage to the retina and the structure of your eye, and other serious issues. It should be noted here also that issues like glaucoma and cataracts can be caused by or exacerbated by excessive pressure in the eye over time.

When my IOP was out of control and my inflammatory problems were also an ophthalmologist (MD who specializes in the eyes) prescribed me steroid prescription eye drops. These drops were very strong, Pred Fort, for anyone who knows about this sort of thing. They would not give me antibiotic for any reason (I wanted a sub-microbial dose to lower the inflammation) because they did not know what they were doing. I threw these drops away as they would have increased my IOP to even HIGHER and more dangerous levels. I spoke to several other doctors about this and they were in disbelief anyone would prescribe me that. I was later given a sub-microbial dose of antibiotic after I explained the incompetence of the steroid prescribing doctor. I don’t even want to think of what would have happened had I put those steroids in my eye. My IOP was beyond danger levels and I was seeing flashes every day, those drops would have made it much worse.  This is a perfect example of why it is important to look at and treat doctors just like every other fallible person you encounter in your life. They are not at all special and do not let them convince you otherwise. For your safety.

Eye pressure is also greatly affected by your sinuses. If you have seasonal allergies, or Lyme (which also loves to attack your sinuses) then you could have inflammation in this area that will put pressure on your eye and your optic nerve. This is actually pretty easy to treat and can greatly improve your life if this area is contributing to your eye pressure problems.

Eye Inflammation (Exterior, Interior and Nerve)

Inflammation can occur pretty much anywhere in the body. This can lead to serious, serious problems depending on the location, severity and duration of the inflammation. If the inflammation occurs on the exterior of the eye it can block the oil producing glands (meibomian) and this can lead to dry eye. This will allow bad bacteria and other things to propagate as your eye needs to keep itself moist to fight off pathogens properly. This can also allow bad actors to grow on your eyelid, then move inside your eye and further into your body, as was my case. Your lacrimal gland can also become inflamed, although this did not happen to me, and this can cause your eye to not produce enough aqueous solution. This could be just as harmful. Lacrimal gland dysfunction could honestly be considered a normal part of aging (particularly for women) but the good news is we have multiple good ways to try and help this problem now. Xiidra is a medication that seems to be safe enough and effective for treating this. Even I am a fan of modern medicine at times.

If the inflammation occurs in the eye or around the internal parts of the eye it can lead to a host of problems for similar reasons. Your body is designed to work a certain way and throwing a wrench that impedes the normal paths your body takes to operate will cause problems on some level. Inflammation of the nerve is a very dangerous issue as your nerves are the “electrical system” of your body. In my case the nerves were inflamed, which led to the overload I described earlier and this also caused problems with other nerves in my head that controlled things like gross and fine motor skills. It is important to note that an infection like Lyme or Bart will often start in one area and move to another. This is also true of starting on one set of nerves (like your optic nerve) and then moving to other sets of nerves (like the ones in your brain) as it travels along. The solution to this issue is to reduce the inflammation immediately and restore your body’s ability to heal itself. Also, help your body heal by giving it what it needs and destroy the pathogen with other substances if you can.

Refractory Problems

These are problems with how light enters the front part of your eye (your cornea) and lands on the back part (the retina). If you have astigmatism like me, your eye is shaped more like a football than a baseball and this affects the way that the multiple points of light enter your eye and land on your retina. Your brain could be getting multiple pictures it has to turn into one picture if you have untreated refractory problems, and this will cause some pretty serious eye strain (which could increase IOP and cause muscle spasms) and some bad headaches. If left untreated it could cause some very serious problems down the line. I will just state here that there is no alternative method for fixing refractory problems. Prescription glasses/contacts or surgery are the only ways to fix this. Find a GOOD optometrist (they are incredibly hard to come by) and get a full eye exam. You can get glasses, contacts or get the surgery if you want to, but this problem can only be fixed by them. For those who suffer from inflammatory problems contacts and the surgery are probably not viable options. During my troubles I also had this issue and was given an incorrect prescription about 6 or 7 times by multiple optometrists, and one of my eyes began acting lazy. It was hard to get a proper prescription because of all the other issues going on and because most optometrists cannot or will not do their job properly.

After a terrible time I finally did get a proper prescription, from the one optometrist I know of that I trust, and my refractory issues vanished over the course of a couple of months. Improvement was felt almost immediately. Also, my left eye had begun to drift and become “lazy” and I am convinced fixing the refractory issue and stopping Lyme and Bart from eating my nerves is what brought it back into alignment.

I also want to note here that I have come across some who think that sungazing (commonly used in the Bates method) can fix refractory problems.

It can’t. Don’t do it. It is dangerous and could harm your vision permanently. The sun is strong enough to illuminate the Earth. Don’t stare at it.

So now I will explain what things I used to fix my eye problems. Some of these things I will use forever, even if some of my chronic issues resolve permanently. It is very important to note that if you are currently suffering from Lyme and/or a coinfection that it is very likely that this will not work very well if the pathogen is left unchecked. I am a huge proponent of fighting Lyme with herbs (Buhner Method) but that is certainly not the only way to do it. Use whatever method to fight these infections you choose, but the pathogen cannot be allowed to attack your eyes or nerves unchecked or else much of this will not help.

If you do have Lyme I suggest using Japanese Knotweed, Cat’s Claw and Andrographis according to the Buhner method to fight it. It is important to note that not all herbs are the same. Japanese Knotweed seems to clear up my eye issues in no time, however, there are brands I have taken that seemingly did nothing. The “Nature Restore” brand of organic Japanese Knotweed fixes Lyme related eye issues for me in no time. Other brands did little to nothing for this issue.

Essential for All Eye Problems

Vitamin A, E, Zinc and Magnesium – These are absolutely essential for healthy vision. If you have Lyme, leaky gut, IBS, or some other issue that prevents your body from absorbing these properly then it could be causing a problem for your eyes. Diet alone, for me, did not solve the issue no matter how many carrots and sweet potatoes I ate. Note that Vitamin A and E are fat soluble vitamins so you can technically have too much of them in your system. Fat soluble vitamins are harder for your body to get rid so there is the potential for trouble, however I have never had this problem personally. Magnesium is essential for proper nerve function, and it is likely you are deficient if you are not supplementing already. Most magnesium in multivitamins is magnesium oxide. If you have a stand alone magnesium oxide supplement I highly recommend throwing it in the trash and buying something that actually works. This is a form of magnesium that is not very bioavailable at all. I recommend magnesium malate (magnesium combined with malic acid) if you take it in the morning, as this will increase ATP and overall energy levels while giving you the magnesium you need. If you take magnesium in the evening I recommend Magnesium Citrate (magnesium combined with citric acid), this is an extremely bioavailable form and will make you feel relaxed and calm, particularly if you are already deficient.

A note here is that if you have a strong reaction to a vitamin or mineral, like becoming very sleepy after taking magnesium citrate, or you notice leg cramps suddenly disappear, then it means that you are probably very deficient. The less deficient you are, generally, the less intense your reaction will be.

Vitamin A – 750mcg once a day. No more that 1500 mcg in a day. Take all fat-soluble vitamins with a fat containing meal. Usually best to micro cycle (3 day on/1-3 days off pretty much everything).

Vitamin E (d-tocopherol or blend preferred) – 30-67mcg once a day. Fat-soluble.

Zinc – Between 15 to 50 mg in a day. Take with food and drink plenty of water. I like to keep my dose at about 15-30mg once a day.  Zinc will bind with the copper in the chlorophyll if taken together so take those two apart from one another.

Magnesium (Malate or Citrate form)– 100-400mg a day. Take with food. Can be taken multiple times in a day. Larger doses may make you go to the bathroom.

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) – This is an organic sulfur that should be in our soil but is not due to the fact that our soil is stripped of most of its nutrients. This stuff takes a while to work and needs to be taken at about 2- 4 grams to be really effective, for a while. Always take with food and Vitamin C. Also protect your stomach with a good collagen product when taking. I made an entire video on this supplement as I credit it primarily with saving my vision. MSM is organic sulfer so people with sulfa drug issues might not want to take it.

Bilberry – Bilberry will lower your IOP and increase your night vision. For some, this may help mitigate problems like glaucoma or cataract formation that is caused by high interocular pressure. This is a berry, like a blueberry that has been cut up and dried and put in a pill form. That is it. It will dramatically improve your vision health if taken regularly. I take 160mg of extract 3 times a day, usually of the Nature’s Way capsules. I will take Bilberry for the rest of my life whether I have problems or not. This herb is critical if you are having trouble.

Not Essential but Recommended for Optimal Vision Health

Krill Oil/Cod Liver Oil/Fermented Cod Liver Oil – one pill or one teaspoon a day.

Fish oils are good for the heart and eyes. I would not take cod liver oil or the fermented cod liver oil every day as the vitamin yield is not certain and it could lead to having too much in your system. Krill oil you can take every day and it probably has less mercury than the fish oils.

Olive Oil/Coconut Oil – These will help the eye produce oil just as well as fish oil. Coconut oil also is full of medium chain triglycerides that will improve cognitive function and also may help protect nerves. Olive oil is healthy in many ways, particularly for the heart. I take one tablespoon of either of these (or the krill/Fish oil) every day.

Taurine – Exceptionally good for the heart and eyes. I take up to a gram a day.

(Optional) CoQ10 – If you are older or have Lyme CoQ10 might help you. It is a pseudo vitamin that has a large role in providing cell energy and also how your body reuses Vitamin E. I do not take it every day, as it seems to give me more energy but also exacerbate certain problems. I do not use a reduced form (like ubiquinol), as it seems to be worse for me than just taking regular CoQ10. Certainly not essential but this may help some people.

Lutein/Zeaxanthin – The literature says these are good for you. I usually take them in a combined product as they are supposed to be taken in a ratio.

Solgar makes an exceptionally good eye vitamin that contains most of the above. If you want to make things simple I recommend it. Just remember to not take in too much Vitmain A or E by taking this supplement and other supplements. Solgar is not a sponsor and I receive no money from them, they just make a very high quality product that I use. Here is the link:

Keep Your Blood Sugar Low– Eye health is linked very closely to blood pressure. Blood sugar can cause a host of problems in the body and can play a role in eye health as well. If you have blood sugar problems I recommend researching

Ashwagandha or Inositol – Ashwagandha will regulate many things in the body, including cortisol and insulin. Inositol will not regulate as many but is very good at helping to regulate blood sugar and is also indicated for anxiety in certain people. I would not use these two together.

Hawthorne – Hawthorne has been used in body building circles for a very long time to control blood pressure. I don’t use it. I eat raw garlic and avoid excessive sodium, which is something I recommend to others. I do know people who use Hawthorne and report they like it, but I do not personally.

How I Fix Floaters

The primary way to fix floaters is lower pressure and take MSM. These are essential for fixing this problem in my opinion. Some people will have the floaters come back when they stop the MSM (after a while) and some say they have not had them come back. There is only one way to find out how this works on an individual level. Floater formation also seems to be tightly connected to overall liver health. Often times making your liver healthier will help dramatically with floaters. In addition to the MSM/Bilberry the following may help:

Chlorophyll – I take about 15 drops of this a day. It has copper in it so take it at a different time of the day than you take the zinc. This stuff boosts energy and gives an overall good feeling to me also.

Liposomal Glutathione with or without Alka Seltzer Gold – This is something used frequently in the chronic illness community to do a quick detox. Glutathione is something your liver makes to help it do its work already and taking additional helps me when I feely my liver or lymph system is overloaded. People who have heavy metal issues should be very careful about taking glutathione. The Alka Seltzer Gold taken with the glutathione is not necessary but seems to contribute to the job when taken with it. When I do take this I take 1 tsp of the glutathione and a half tablet of Alka Selter Gold in water.

NAC and Vitamin C – This is very similar to the way the glutathione works. NAC will also help protect nerves. NAC helped reduce more benign flashes in my vision significantly. Amazon does not sell NAC currently but almost everyone else does. I take 600mg NAC and 800mg Liposomal Vitamin C twice a day with food. NAC also may be harmful in people with heavy metal issues if not administered properly.

Milk Thistle – This is an incredibly strong long term agent for helping the liver. It will increase estrogen dramatically so make sure you are mindful of that. I use it sparingly to avoid side effects.

How I Fix Flashes

This is very similar to the floaters. Reduce the pressure and inflammation ASAP. Flashes can be caused by frayed nerves as well. If you have Lyme stop the pathogen from eating your nerves and then repair the nerves. Making sure you have proper nutrition (most likely through supplementation) and that you are absorbing that nutrition (by keeping your gut in order) is key here. Specifically for nerves, I find that Vitamin B12 helps a lot, and the NAC and Vitamin C (Vitamin C is a potent anti-inflammatory) help a lot here. If you need to regrow nerves, particularly optic nerves or nerves in the brain I suggest:

Lion’s Mane Mushroom – I take an extract from Host Defense on a micro cycle. This helped regrow optic nerve tissue and also greatly improved my cognitive function. Like all medicinal mushrooms it will increase estrogen so it is best to micro cycle it. Truly an amazing herb and one that can help many people. When my nerves were protected but still damaged, this mushroom helped bring them for 60% operating capacity to 120%.

The magnesium I mentioned earlier will help tremendously with nerve issues. Particularly if you are very deficient.

How I Fix Eye Pressure

The bilberry and MSM will do most of the work here. Eye pressure issues can also be caused by sinus issues so I will list three ways to deal with those here.

Claritin -D – This is loratadine (a solid second-generation antihistamine) mixed with pseudoephedrine which will dry out your sinuses. If your sinus issues are caused by histamine or Lyme problems this or the regular Claritin (just loratadine) will help a lot.

Saline Irrigation – I tilt my head back and spray the Arm and Hammer saline spray in each nostril, let it sit for a few moments and then blow my nose. I do this several times throughout the day if I am having sinus issues.

Hydrogen Peroxide 3% – 5 drops in the ear canal, tilt your head so it stays in, hold for about 5 minutes, then do the other ear. There is research that this will greatly boost your immune system. It will also emulsify your ear wax which could be contributing to your problems. Wax may be holding things that you are reacting to. Also clearing your ears out a bit will allow better flow in your sinuses so pressure can’t build up as much. I do this once a day for several days if I need to. I use a dropper.

How I Fix Refractory Problems

Find a good doctor and get a complete exam. There is no alternative remedy for this issue. If you get a prescription and it is not working for you then get a new doctor and a new prescription. This field is so imprecise that it often takes a number of tries to get it right. Problems could occur at the doctor’s office, where they make the glasses, the shipping, etc. I had an optometrist give me an eye exam AFTER I was dilated once. The prescription he gave me was about 4x as strong as it should have been. Needless to say, I never wasted my time with him again. I eventually found a good optometrist and now I only go to her.

 Eye Inflammation (Exterior)

Your face, the exterior of your eyelids and your eyes can be a great place for bad bacteria to grow if things are out of order. Your skin, eyelids and eyes all should have a certain level of moistness, dryness can lead bacterial or fungal overgrowth. Vitamin A, for example, is essential for your vision and also helps keep your skin healthy, all of these things are related. If you have rosacea (or ocular rosacea, which is where my rosacea began) there are a number of things you can do to fix it. If I see someone with very dry skin or rosacea, my first inclination is that they have a vitamin deficiency caused by leaky gut or some other issue that functions similarly. Since fixing the gut can take months, it is best to lower the inflammation and provide moisture to the face and eyes while you work on a more permanent solution.

First and foremost Doxycycline, from your doctor, works very well at fixing eye problems like this temporarily so you can figure out a long term solution. It is probably best to not be on antibiotic for a long time, and also best to protect your stomach microbiome while you take something that is killing large parts of it. In my case I found that cleasning my eyelids twice a day, morning and night and then applying a layer of coconut oil (slightly antimicrobial) to my face and eyelids helped to solve this problem after a while. This was coupled with fixing my gut, as almost all skin issues are basically gut issues. As long as the coconut oil has not dark spots in it (in solid or liquid form) then it is probably safe to apply to your eyelids. Some of this will seep into your eyes and trap moisture very similarly to how your natural oil works. A lot of people like to apply the coconut oil and then use an eye drop to thin out the oil if it obscures the vision slightly. Whatever method you use it is best to kill whatever bad things are trying to live on your skin, keep the area nice and moist, and then fix the underlying problems that got you here to begin with. Please note that wearing contacts can make these problems much worse by impeding your eyes ability to take care of itself. This is also true for women who wear eye liner. I would suggest not doing either ifyou have eye problems.

Here is what I do to solve this exterior eye inflammatory problem:

MSM – orally to reduce system wide inflammation

Clean Eyelids – morning and night with Ocusoft wipes or just saline and a cotton ball

Apply Coconut Oil to Face (Occasionally Mixed with Vaseline, If Needed) – once to twice a day to trap moisture. First pat your face with water or do this after a shower. The coconut oil and Vaseline do not provide moisture, they will just trap it. This will also do wonders to halt bad bacteria overgrowth.

Eye Drops As Needed – I always use preservative free eye drops. I am not putting those terrible things directly in my eye.

Hyaluronic Acid Orally – This will help but I am not a huge fan. Makes the skin hold more water but also makes it more sensitive.

Conclusion

This poem is called “Lux Aeterna”

This is most of what I know about solving these problems. The above has worked for me and given me my life back. It has worked for others as well. I will come back to this article and update it from time to time. I am releasing it now becasue there are peole out there who may benefit from reading this, even though I am not yet done with it. I am certainly not done with this subject. If you encounter a problem and you can’t get access to what you think is the cure, then change the way you are thinking. No matter what happens tomorrow you can make yourseslf so strong that you can fight it and win. If you take nothing else away from all you have read here, or anywhere else on my site, I want you to remember this for as long as you live:

You Can Fight Forever

And

You Can Overcome Anything
